Dr. Taffy Makaya is a highly respected Senior Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. She serves as the Clinical Lead for Paediatric and Transition Endocrinology at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and has over two decades of clinical experience.

Her specialist training was completed at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and she has extensive expertise in a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including:

• Growth disorders

• Early and delayed puberty

• Thyroid and adrenal conditions

• Obesity and Type 2 diabetes

• PCOS, bone health, and genetic endocrine syndromes

Dr. Makaya is also a passionate educator and holds the role of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford. She teaches medical students, supervises junior doctors, and regularly presents at national and international academic meetings. She is a published researcher and recognised medico-legal expert.

Her leadership experience spans service development, quality improvement, and patient safety. She has led award-winning teams and actively champions open communication and holistic care within paediatric medicine.

In her personal time, Dr. Makaya advocates for mental health awareness and serves as Vice Chair of Oxfordshire Mind.
